The road is easy to find. When you exit the iBike shop, take the same avenue that leads to the beach and when you see the roundabout with the billboards, you can either go left towards the PUBLIC BEACHES, or head right towards the HOTEL ZONE.
If you choose to turn left at the roundabout, our top picks are Playa Ruinas, Playa Paraíso and Las Palmas. These beautiful beaches are famous for their powdery white sands, and they are also public so you will have plenty of space to park your iBike and enjoy a sunbath or a dip in the turquoise water.
Around the public beach area you will be able to find the boat stops, which are ready to take you on the most exciting snorkeling tours, reef explorations, and much more.
If you are looking to get away from the crowds and enjoy a quiet and peaceful day in a public beach, Playa Paraíso is definitely a good option. There is a beach club with affordable prices where you can have a refreshing margarita or maybe some fish tacos. While at the beach, if you walk towards the left, the Mayan pyramid and the cliffs will suddenly appear. This is one of the best angles for taking a selfie with the pyramid as a background, just be advised that you might encounter turtle nests if you visit Tulum during the nesting period, so please avoid stepping over them. The nests are easy to identify because they are marked and cordoned off.
You won’t encounter any problems as you walk over the sand of Tulum, since these beaches are almost 20 meters long so there is plenty of room for your towel, your drinks, and even a little dancing if you feel like it!
However, if at the roundabout you choose to turn right, then you are venturing towards the Tuluminati path. Further ahead you will arrive at Punta Piedra, where the road becomes narrow and the sea lashes against the rocky shoreline.
